TIMMES’ Optimized Data Environment for Network Centric Operations (ODEN) technology for teleradiology accelerates data transmission rates of medical imagery (MRI, X-ray, ital.) achieving lossless, 200% to 2000% throughput increases over benchmark metrics. The efficiency of ODEN improves dramatically over time with increases of 20:1 to 200:1 for highly compressible data. OPEN is covered under Patent #7,379,605, which is the foundational patent which TIMMES has used to develop many lossless compression products tailored to specific use cases. In operation, ODEN is highly robust, where even a break in transmission will only require a minor, automatic reset versus having to start the image transmission over from the first packet.
ODEN has been demonstrated in multiple Defense Systems Information Agency events of global proportion in 2007 and 2008. In essence, MRI/X-ray imagery was transmitted from Afghanistan to Bethesda Maryland in minutes, with no loss of imagery data, for review by a medical specialist team to review and advice. Before ODEN, this transmission process would take hours and produce a lossy image. ODEN is in operation today at numerous fixed and mobile medical facilities across the United States.
There is no other teleradiology technology available that equals the proven performance characteristics of ODEN for providing lossless medical imagery at greatly reduced transmission times. Doctors in remote regions are now benefiting from having rapid access to geographically removed medical specialists that otherwise would be unable to review locally obtained medical imagery. ODEN is patent protected by the United States and Trademark Office.
